Cubs need hits or walks - not home runs

they need to stop swinging for the fence

SELF DESTRUCTION!!

2 errors in one inning - plus a ball Theriot should have stopped. Zambrano needs to strike out the rest of the batters

Debate

Watching it right now. I hope the Cubs are looking better than Biden. He started very slow, and didn't really find his groove until the foreign policy section.

But I'm KIP-ing.

(PS - You think Kipling know how to keep it positive? I hope so. Otherwise it would a waste of a name.)

Strike Zone

Did anyone else think that Lowe was given a very large strike zone last night? seems that the cub batters started with one strike against them.

When is Soriano not going to swing at a terrible pitch?

Will the real Z please stand up

Any thoughts on which one we will be getting tonight?

Watching the Cubs is Not Healthy

How I Watch Cubs Baseball in Costa Rica

How bout some runs boys

you can not tempt the baseball gods...

Ron Darling, Prophet of the obvious.

Bill is oblivious to this mess

He is drining around Rantoul. I wish he could be with us. This is great family fun.

Night Night

Mark is leaving the building.

The depression set in.

Mark may need to go to bed before the inning is over
Why, why, why..oh the humanity.
Too many walks

Throwing Strikes

IN THE POST SEASON...IT'S IMPORTANT....to find the corners.

Pre-Game Routine

Do what any child of Paul Scott would do...

Ride the bike for an hour and half creating a small lake below my feet.

I am ready

Anticipation

My work has been put on hold here in Costa Rica due to the financial crisis....

It is OK for me as I was going to have to tell all my colleagues I was no good to them for the coming three weeks.

I feel good about tonight, but just in case I would have to recommend to my older brother that he take Adam to a bar in NYC that he carries no love for. You probably will not be able to go back for the next 2 to 3 years if things go sour this evening.

It's Gonna Happen

I'm in Chicago at a conference. To be this close without being able to go, let alone watch the game, is killing me. I need you all to keep it positive (that's you Adam). 11 more wins to go until we are World Champs. Can you feel it?

The Wire 08

As this is the last season of the WIRE we need to start memorializing current thinking and observations on this years theme of 'more with less'.

McNulty-More of a case to compensate for less resource.
Up and Coming reporter-More of a story with less talent (or is it more ambition with less time?).

Both of these are great examples of how individuals are perfectly happy in bending ethics to suit achieve their greater good (or what the percieve).

Also there is a little interaction that I am sure was planned where a comment was made about a voice mail being left for an individual that was no longer with the Baltimore Sun. It is the details that get overlooked when you are running far ahead of normal speed.
